Steiner Ranch Kitchen Remodel with Custom Alder Island & Quartzite Countertops

Project Overview

This Steiner Ranch kitchen remodel completely transformed the space by combining painted perimeter cabinets with a custom stained alder island, premium quartzite countertops, and upgraded fixtures throughout.

As part of our kitchen remodeling services, we built a custom clear alder island, refinished the existing knotty alder perimeter cabinets, installed Bianco Superior 3cm quartzite countertops, upgraded the lighting, and added new hardware and fixtures.

Before the Remodel

The original kitchen featured knotty alder cabinets and dated finishes. While the layout worked well, the homeowners wanted a brighter, more custom appearance without losing the warmth of natural wood.

After the Remodel

The finished kitchen combines painted cabinetry with natural wood to create a timeless custom design. The new clear alder island became the centerpiece of the room, while the quartzite countertops and updated lighting completed the transformation.

Design Highlights

One of the standout features of this remodel is the custom clear alder island. Finished with Minwax Special Walnut in a satin sheen, it provides warmth and natural character while creating a striking contrast against the painted perimeter cabinets.

Rather than replacing the existing knotty alder perimeter cabinets, we filled the knots and professionally painted them Sherwin-Williams SW9173 Shiitake. This warm neutral pairs beautifully with the natural wood island and complements the Bianco Superior quartzite countertops.
