Leander Kitchen Remodel with Cabinet Painting & New Backsplash
Waterloo Painted Cabinets, Mattonella Neve Tile & Shoji White Walls
This Leander kitchen remodel transformed the existing kitchen by combining professional cabinet painting, a new tile backsplash, new cabinet hardware, and fresh interior wall paint.
The existing kitchen cabinets were painted Sherwin-Williams SW 9141 Waterloo in a satin finish, creating a dramatic new cabinet color without requiring cabinet replacement. We completed the transformation with new cabinet hardware, MSI Mattonella Neve 2.5" x 10" tile backsplash, and kitchen walls painted Sherwin-Williams SW 7042 Shoji White in an eggshell finish.
Before the Leander Kitchen Remodel
The existing kitchen layout and cabinetry could remain in place, making cabinet painting a practical way to dramatically change the appearance of the space. Rather than replacing functional cabinets, this remodel focused on high-impact finish upgrades throughout the kitchen.
After the Kitchen Remodel
The completed kitchen has an entirely different color palette. Waterloo gives the existing cabinetry a rich new finish, while the lighter Mattonella Neve backsplash and Shoji White walls balance the darker cabinet color.

Waterloo Kitchen Cabinet Painting
The biggest visual change in this Leander kitchen came from professionally painting the existing cabinets Sherwin-Williams Waterloo SW 9141. Using a deeper cabinet color completely changed the character of the kitchen while allowing the existing cabinet boxes and layout to remain.
A satin finish provides the smooth finished appearance selected for the cabinetry, while new cabinet hardware adds the finishing detail to the updated doors and drawers.
MSI Mattonella Neve Tile Backsplash
The new backsplash features MSI Mattonella Neve 2.5" x 10" tile. The white tile has a softly weathered, textured appearance with subtle surface variation that gives the backsplash more character than a traditional flat white subway tile.
Its lighter color creates contrast against the Waterloo cabinetry while helping connect the darker cabinets with the lighter walls.
Shoji White Kitchen Walls
The kitchen walls were painted Sherwin-Williams Shoji White SW 7042 in an eggshell finish. The warm, muted white provides a softer neutral backdrop around the Waterloo cabinets and new backsplash.
Updating the wall paint at the same time as the cabinetry and backsplash allowed the colors and finishes throughout the kitchen to work together as one coordinated remodel.
Kitchen Remodeling Without Replacing the Cabinets
A kitchen transformation does not always require removing existing cabinetry. When the cabinet boxes and layout still work for the homeowner, professional cabinet painting can be combined with backsplash tile, hardware, countertops, interior painting, and other targeted improvements.
This Leander project is a good example of how coordinated finish changes can create a substantial kitchen update while retaining the existing cabinet system.
